ZERO-FILL partition
you may download the sdelete from microsoft website https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sdelete
sdelete64.exe -z X:(X = drive letter of the volume you want to shrink)
Shrink the partition
Using Disk Management:
-
Right-click the volume
-
Shrink
-
Set it to xxxxxGB
If you want to do this on VM you have to do the same at the host level.
